Voting Rights
Aswar has led digital for the largest voting rights coalition in the country, and has been among the most dedicated advocates for the Freedom to Vote Act, hailed as the greatest strengthening of voting rights since the Civil Rights era. As your Congressman, Aswar will be able to push this Freedom to Vote Act through the complex puzzles of Congress, and help protect voting rights for all Americans.
Reproductive Rights
Aswar firmly believes in the rights of all women to make their own healthcare choices, including the right to an abortion. Coming from a family of women, I know that reproductive health — and women’s healthcare in general — can be extremely complicated, traumatizing, and that the last thing we need are governments interfering in what should be a matter between a woman and her doctor.
