Aswar represents the story of Minnesota’s Fourth District. An immigrant who came to America at 6 years old, with his mom, sister, and dreams of a life free from fear. An entrepreneur who left home at 16 to ease the financial burdens on his family, and started a successful multimillion dollar consultancy and film production house. A proud Democrat who responded with all he had when democracy was attacked at home by the Trump regime, and abroad by Putin.

Immigrant
Aswar’s mother brought him to America when he was six years old, fleeing an abusive and hopeless life in Bangladesh. Not a day goes by that Aswar doesn’t appreciate the tremendous gift that is a life as an American citizen. He will bring this spirit of gratitude to Congress, as well as the sense of duty that comes with it.
Entrepreneur & Filmmaker
Aswar left home at 16 when the recession left his family without a home. From those ashes, he built a multimillion dollar consultancy on media, film, and political strategy. This personal determination will help him be the bold advocate that the Fourth District needs and deserves.
Democrat
Starting as a school-aged volunteer for the first Obama campaign, Aswar has been a lifelong Democrat, dedicated to the principles of the Democratic Party: fairness, opportunity, and thriving America. His work as a strategist for Democratic campaigns and other pro-democracy causes makes him very well-positioned to succeed in representing his district.
