Enrolled in the University of Minnesota. (Fun fact: because I had done two semesters at the first college, I counted as a transfer student, and so did not need to present a high school diploma. To this day, I don’t have one, nor a GED.)

Dropped out of college after second semester.

To reduce financial pressure on my mother, I dropped out of high school to attend a small college in Santa Fe that was willing to take me on condition that I gain a GED before graduating.

Began working for city government and police department, and won a scholarship to tour Europe.
