HUMANITARIAN ASWAR RAHMAN BEGINS CAMPAIGN FOR MINNESOTA’S FOURTH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT
Millennial Democrat Aims to Mobilize Students, Build MN-CD4 into a DFL powerhouse

SAINT PAUL, SEP 19 — In an introduction video released today, Saint Paul-based humanitarian Aswar Rahman announced his campaign to represent Minnesota’s Fourth District in Congress. The founder of the American Service in Ukraine, Aswar is a longtime Democrat, having led the digital campaigns for the Freedom to Vote Act, Senator Amy Klobuchar’s Presidential bid in 2020, and Dean Phillips’ historic Congressional victory in 2018.

In his introduction video, Aswar shares that he is “running to represent… the Heart of Minnesota… because so many of our neighbors need some help right now,” connecting his work with Ukrainian refugees to American citizens’ concerns over the economy, housing, and political extremism.

The millennial Democrat’s campaign is focused on mobilizing students on the District’s college campuses, with the goal of reinforcing DFL congressional campaigns across the state. The campaign also plans to build a sister program across the St. Croix River, mobilizing campuses in western Wisconsin to support President Joe Biden’s reelection bid in the battleground state.
